The cost of Borderline Personality Disorder globally stretches into the 100’s of billions. For millions of sufferers, the impact on quality of life is similar to other psychiatric disorders such as depression and schizophrenia, resulting in an average life expectancy decrease of 10-15 years.
Personality disorder is treatable; but access to care is limited due to the need for skilled therapists and specialised clinics.
As strategic and commercial lead for this new venture at TTP, I was instrumental in framing the value proposition for eM, moving away from a single app to a platform based approach, enabling the creation of multiple apps built off a customisable digital CBT platform.
This approach extended the therapeutic reach beyond personality disorders to engage with the wider spectrum of mental disorders such as PTSD and Bullimia.
The app is currently in user trials within a patient cohort at the NHS in the UK.
